Oh god, that's awful IMO. It looks like a boring, sedan with headlights copied from the C Class and new Passat. I actually think the current S Type looks pretty good, especially in the R version. Before I got the Audi last week, I was for sure going to get a 2006 Jag XJ8. They drive beautifully, but do feel like an old person's car. Not the XK8, but the sedans are very vanilla!

For sure. Also, why did designers remove the leaping Jaguar from the hood?? That is classic Jaguar, and really adds a lot to their sedans. It's kind of like Mercedes saying a while back, that all 4 door models will have the 3 pointed star on the hood, and all coupes and cabrios (2 door models) will have the star in the grill. Now it's a big mix up, especially with car manufacturers and their stupid "4 door coupes". It's not a 4 door coupe, it's a sedan damnit!!

I think Jag should keep the leaping Jag hood ornament. It keeps it a Jag, and away from looking like an expensive American sedan!!

Look at the X-Type and XJ-Type front end all look good and classic Jag just update it a bit and the side and rear--problem they are built like crap and unreliable.

Hey Matthew,

While I totally agree that the X and S Type have had their fair share of reliability problems, the XJ has had really excellent reliability, and pretty good resale value. According to JD Powers, the Jaguar XJ scores higher than almost every other BMW and Mercedes. So, I agree that the S and X are not high quality Jags, I think the XJ and XK8 are very solid cars, and built really, really well!!

JD please no.

I know three people that have XJs, they all hate them, countless problems have gone wrong, steering, drive train and electronics you name it. One of them has the Super V8, three times the engine has just plan DIED on the side of the road. They just don’t have the appeal that Mercedes and BMW have.

I don't really like the design. I don't think the design seen above is the actual new S-Type, as I have seen a couple of artists renditions.

The link below shows another drawing of the S-Type and I like it a lot.

Jaguar has had some reliablility issues, but don't forget we are on a BMW board. It's not like BMW has that great of reliability.

Jheesh I'm the only one that thinks it looks decent! Admittedly it is pretty weird, but it's not shockingly ugly like a.... Ssangyong... hahahaha.

It's very Maserati'esque and reminds me of the Quattroporte.
