I posted some pictures a little while ago, but the batteries in my camera died before I had a chance to take pictures of the paint or interior, and I accidentally posted those in the General section...
Sadly, this is what my car looks like up close. Those flat surfaces pointing at the sky have it pretty bad...
I still haven't decided what color to paint it. Any suggestions?

And here's the inside:

My "custom" shifter area:
The shift knob was loose and broken, so I replaced it, and the trim was pealing and cracking really badly, so I cut and finished a piece of wood and replaced it, too.

Nice repair job on the interior! I know how you feel man, my paint is exactly the same, maybe even worse. I suggest just repainting it black. I love the way a nice glossy black paint looks.

I've thought about black, because I want something subtle, and that would be easiest. But right now I'm thinking I want dark red. I mean, a red so dark that it's almost black. Either that or a dark grey. I just can't find any cars with a red as dark as what I'm looking for as an example.

I've noticed that, too. It's awful to try to keep it clean.

I've decided on silver gray. I don't know exactly what color (what make/model to use as an example) , but at least now I'll know what I'm looking for when I look at swatches.

Well, I bought the paint today, so I guess it's decided. It's a dark silverish charcoalish grayish anthracite color. I've been sanding since Saturday. Almost done with what I can do with the power sander. This is fun... Kinda. I haven't gotten this dirty since I was an itty bitty boy.

Foomonkey you are an itty bitty boy, [joke] I did a complete paint jopb on my 79 Chev pickup years ago. It was fun for about the first six hours...haha. I sanded that thing, removed parts, wet sanded, masked, etc, etc. All in all when your done it will be worth it. Have fun with it!~

Weeee. It's done. I'm excited.

Well, it's not actually done. I got the car painted, but there are some black pieces I'm going to repaint. I figured I might as well go all the way and give her a complete makeover. Then I put everything back together, and then she's done.
