Waited for ever to finally get my first Bimmer. I can't tell you how much I love driving this thing. Lots of upgrades I want to do to the car. I think I'm going to start with the Cold Air Intake first...I've been looking at the K&N brand. Any suggestions, Pro's con's with this brand or should I look at another brand? Thank you in advance for any input you have in this matter.
Glad to be here.

Welcome to the board. Nice car, I like white. Which ever CAI you choose make sure that it is isolated from the air within the engine compartment, you want cold air. FYI, you r car is a Bimmer. Beemer is a motorcycle!

Very nice ckstovall! I too like white. I have owned 3 different white cars/trucks in the past. I agree with Dan, make sure the CIA is isolated with a heat shield. You're car would look great with the Euro white lenses too.

P.S. Welcome to the board, we're happy to have you here....

Cold Air Intake

Well, I installed the K&N cold air intake system. This has added a wonderful sound when putting the heavy foot down. I have to learn to control that soon to be able to reach a gain in MPG. Now on to getting a replacement chip for the car. What's your opinion on the type and a possible good source for a tight budget. Thanks for your input. [driving2]

ECIS intakes are less expensive and give the same gains as a true 'CAI' that runs the filter closer to the ground. I doubt one really gives more gain than another, but you can bet the vendors will all claim that 1-2 HP advantage.. :)

Nice car!
