okay here is what i found...if u go to autotrader.com and go to find used cars > BMW > M3: 2000-2004: $0-20000 and u will usually find some car...like 2002 or 2003 for 8,000 (Example ) and you can find cars, another one for 18,500 (Example) and this isn't like a once or twice occurance, i have done at least 8 of these cars, and here is the weird part, it says like 60 or 70 miles from your house, then you e-mail them and they say the car is in ITALY or some country and you have to wire the money into an account...is this for real or a scam???

I wouldn't wire money into anyones account in a foreign nation without having the product in my hands. The only way to do that and not get burned is by picking it up yourself...

I'd call/e-mail with a link to the ad... it's gotta be bogus, or at least sleazy practice. I'm sure autotrader would like to know someone is manipulating the system!

Yes these scams are very common. Sometimes they try to defraud the seller too by stating they are a buyer from overseas. They would send you a bogus check for more than the amount and ask for a refund.

Definitely a scam. The overseas dude will say something like, "Oh I'll just send you a check and you send me the difference because it takes 20 days or so for an international check to clear" (which is the actual truth). So he'll send you a check for let's say -just for example- $10,000 and then you send him a check back for like $4,000 for the difference, and then you find out his check bounced and you are out $4,000. It really sucks, you have to be careful!

SCAM, SCAM SCAM, I found a 2004 Viper SRT -10 on the net here for 7,500 euro, naturally I emailed the dude and asked what was wrong with the car, He emailed me back told me nothing was wrong and was very pushy about selling the car and told me I could come to "England" and pick it up. I wrote the dude back and told him that if he had ALL the paperwork and tax stuff and everything was legit, then I would come over and get the car the next day. He wrote me back and told me to F--k off and the same day the car was no longer listed. SCAM, SCAM,SCAM. Common over here, cars get stolen and shipped to Eastern block countries where they re-sell them to stupid assholes trying to make a buck off of ignorant "deal hunters" like us.

they also do the fake escrow. Tell you to use a particular escrow company that they secretly run. Once you send the item or money, everything disappears.

Yeah, Enthusiast, I was on autotrader a while ago and came across the exact same junk. It was more than likely the same exact bunghole. I emailed the link & forwarded the email I received from the scumbag to autotrader asking them to remove the link, but I've never heard anything back. Nothing irks me more than these scam punks.
I'd like to take a sledgehammer to their fingers to keep 'em from submitting ads on ebay, autotrader, etc.
