I would never want one of those. I watched a special on them on speed channel. They sound like they are headache to own. But it does have a cool factor.

Cool! One of my absolute favorite cars. I'd love to own one - it was an underappreciated car that was way ahead of its time. That one looks like it's in really good shape.

My parents almost bought a new one right after DeLorean went under. There was a dealer in the town where my parents lived that really wanted to unload them bad - they were offering absolutely incredible deals on them. My mom thought it was an awesome car and wanted to buy one, buy my dad decided that he didn't think it'd be a good idea since the future availability of parts/service was questionable. In retrospect, they wish they had bought one (I wish they had, too). Most parts for them aren't hard to get nowadays (aside from some of the body panels - that's where the big bucks come in).

That looks awesome. In the house I used to live in (over 6 years ago), my neighbor had one sitting in his garage. When I was like 10 or 12 or something, he let me sit inside it and stuff...really cool doors !!!

Yes they were nice cars and some still are. As I remember it he got in trouble with the feds over drugs or something and went bankrupt from it all. He was a very smart person who went from GM into business for himself, but started a downward sprial, divorce, drugs, financial trouble, etc. You can reaed about it here along with photos and information on the 24kt gold model.

Many people think that the high ups in GM orchestrated that drug scandal to destroy his company. They were royally pissed that he left GM and started his own car company.

The really unfortunate thing was that there were plans to make more powerful models of the car including a turbocharged version. Unfortunately, the company didn't last long enough.

That is too bad if it is the case, I would have liked to see a HP version. Not exactly the same, but did'nt the government run Tucker out of business with the help of the big companies?

WOW! I haven't seen one actually driving on the road for years. you normally see pics. of them in side yards collecting dust with boxes piled on them and a tarp halfway covering them not running. Thats pretty cool and it does look like it is in great condition. Very cool! I believe DeLorean was busted by federal agents with LARGE amounts of herion and tucker was WAY ahead of his time, we are now using ideas he had in his car now such as headlights that move in the dirction of the car, too bad it would have been nice to see what either one of those 2 companies could have made later in life.
