Depends on the torque wrench! I have Snap-On clickable type that you screw in the handle at the bottom to increase the torque setting. These should be backed down to the lowest setting shown on the wrench then put away.

I need to buy a torque wrench, but they are so expensive! Any recomendations for a reasonably priced one. Mostly just need it to properly torque wheel lugs, and the occasional brake job.

wiley, I purchased my last Snap-On from some one on ebay. Good price, and as far as I can tell, brand new. You will just need to fully read the listings and try to weed out the rip offs.

I'm been trading on ebay for about 6 years now and have a pretty good feel of what's real versus the scams. I can try to help you find one if you like.

True, They're a great deal if you rarely use them, but I've seen several of those type torque wrenches screw up after 2-3 years. There's nothing worse than a tool that doesn't work right when you need it.
