Yeah, glad the Z8 'didn't do so well" either. BMW admitted it was "slightly" overpriced :) and not offering a Steptronic or SMG killed sales.

The ride is very firm, but not any harder than an M3 or stock Z8. You def. feel bumps and holes,,,but it is completley stable and rock solid.

Trading for a 33hp Opel??? Well that just might be a deal.

The little round gauge behind the steering wheel is the gear indicator, it shows both Steptronic and "manual" modes.

Thanks for all the great postings. Appreciate it!!!! [bmwdance]

You know Adam that that car will be worth a fortune in the future if not now. Now that you have the M3 and X5 I would drive her only on weekend and such.

She isn't just a Z8, which in its self are rare. An Alpina Z8, preferably with low miles, will command a large audience to collectors as the years go by. This is just my opinion, but I would love to have that car in my stables. I love my M a lot, but to have both would be a dream.

Do you ever show it? I wonder just how many were produced. I wouldn't think a whole lot. Keep her safe and treat her well as I am sure you do.....

Hey Scott..yeah we think so too. We love rotating our "fleet" every year or two, but think the Pina is a keeper. Even here in Los Angeles where you see Ferraris and Turbo Porsches at the Supermarket every day....the Alpina always creates a little stir. Most people have never even heard of, or seen a Z8, let alone an Alpina.
555 were made for worldwide sales, and about 450 made it to the US market. Ours is number 538/555. We do baby it, but we also drive it. It is a car, and we want to enjoy it. Thanks for the post [wave]
