Wanted to keep you guys posted on my M3 quest/journey. If I smile any harder I will def. need surgical help!

YES....I bit the bullet and got an M3...and after seeing those pics of the new M3, photo-chopped or not, my decision is validated even more. On my 700 mile journey to get it, I cannot count how many honks and thumbs up I got. What an amazing high it was.

Besides from the Alpina, this is the most amazing car I have EVER driven...and I love the SMG. Whatever anyone says, it is the absolute best of both worlds..no compromises.

So my new Baby has:

Interlagos Blue Metallic (and NO it is not purple Mr. Elussive :)
Gray Nappa Leather
Competition Package
Cold Weather Package
Premium Package
Adjustable width/lumbar seats
Park Distance
Adaptive Bi-Xenons
DVD Navigation
Harman-Kardon Sound
19" M Alloy Wheels
SMG

I am on a high...that I have never felt. I want to sleep in it, and when I park it, I want to shrink wrap it [:)]

Wow, I am envious of you. I wanted to trade mine in for the Interlagos Blue. I want the wheels real bad (yours don't have the competition wheels), but yours has the standard 19" not the BBS RG style wheels. I see a lot of dealers order the cars this way. I would ask about the other wheels that are supposed to come it....

Nice car I love it....I would want the black nappa though....happy motoring...

Thanks to all the fast and great responses.

The dealer said that BMW is having nothing but complaints about the BBS wheels and tires. I guess they have been putting really crappy Bridgestones on the BBS wheels (opposed to the Pilots that come with the factory rims), and there have been complaints on the quality, and that anyone can just go to Just Tires or a chain tire store and buy the same wheels w/o the Roundel. To me the M looks best with the factory M wheels.

Thanks again. Must......stop......smiling!!!

You could try, and I probably wouldn't even feel the sting of your hand slapping...there is very little that can detract me right now.

Thanks to you and again everyone who has responded. What a great board...I get to share my excitement and pics with lots of Bimmer freaks :)

Holy crap that looks so amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow, what a ridiculously nice color!! HOwcome no BBS 19" wheels, though? Those wheels look sickeningly hot and really separate the Competition Package M3 from the regular one.

Pictures were taken while my car was still on the showroom floor. It had not been "detailed" yet. My salesguy and I took EVERY warning sticker, and for that matter ever sticker off any glass, or interior piece...and the paper floor mat has been replaced with these really hot M3 floormats.

Many dealers are ordering the Competition Pkg. with factory M wheels and advising customers against the BBS wheels. According to our dealer, the few Comp. Packages that have been sold, customers are very unhappy with the quality of the rims, and BMW has been fitting the BBS wheels with sub-standard Bridgestone Tires. Many customers are upset the Comp. Pkg. wheels are "after-market" and anyone can buy the same wheels at a chain tire/wheel store.

Yes, the BBS wheels look hot...but I wanted my M to be all M!!

yea i love the "sub-standard" bridgestone tires.. how come i didn't get the damn pilots! guess i'll just have to settle for the pilot alpins.. [:(]

none the less, the "aftermarket" rims made the M look even sharper. i find bmw's tire fitting a bit weird tho. they supply the pilots w/ the M 19s right? but why not in the competitions package w/ the BBS?

this is the first time i saw the driver's foot well of an smg equipped m. having the standard brake pedals somehow looks really weird.

Jae, the Bridgestone tires are more track-oriented (along with the BBS wheels) wheras the Pilots are better on the road (less squirelly, better tire wear, and some other things).

deutsch, did your dealer say anything specific about the problems with the BBS wheels? BBS is known for their top-quality wheels so I am surprised that more people prefer the M3 Competition Package with the 19" M Parellel Wheels.
