Besides the Cayenne, Porsche has absolutely nothing to do with Volkswagen.

And I agree, should've gone for a coupe. A new 997 Carrera S maybe? Maybe two?
Sure they do. Besides the Cayenne, Porsche and VW share factories and also share parts. You'll find the same cupholder in the 911 Turbo as you will in the VW Jetta!!

Haha, thanks dude. When I had my Jetta, I was at the office once and I went to lunch with my dad and some of his co-worker friends and we were talking cars. I told them I had a Jetta and one of them was like, "Just tell the girls that you drive a Porsche. It's the same shit, I'm serious." I cracked up at this comment, but it was ironic....Porsche, VW, and Audi do share stupidass parts like dashboard materials, cupholders, and other stupid things. Obviously, the Cayenne and the Touareg share more than that (they share the 3.2L V6 engine, the platform, etc.), but it's just straight up weird how you can find the same cupholder in a $20K Jetta as you would in a $130K Porsche 911 Turbo.

The X5 uses the same parts as the Land Rover - Ranger Rover
The New Range Rover, which was designed and constructed by BMW, but they turned production over to Ford at the last second. The New Range Rover uses the BMW 4.4 liter V8, their HK stereo system, their navigation system, their transmission, and lots of other crap. Parts were not used specifically from the X5, but BMW as a whole.

Yeah, all the electronics in the new Range Rover are from BMW. You'll even notice the shift knob is the same with the different settings (Sport mode and Manual mode and stuff).
